McArthur Street, Cottesloe
The bluestone crazy paving makeover quickly became the talk of the street for this south Cottesloe renovation. With ocean views and a wonderful customer to work with, the project was a pleasure to undertake from start to finish.
We opted for a compacted crushed roadbase & mortar installation method. Opting to choose to delete the concrete base enabled us to work with the product atheistically by removing the necessary moving joints, usually incorporated in a concrete slab, to mitigate against movement and cracking. Movement joints in this particular scenario would have resulted in the movement joint (otherwise know as an expansion joint) to be transferred through to the top of the Crazy Paving and create straight joints running through the pattern. Luckily using our extensive experience in crazy paving and construction, we were able to manoeuvre our installation method and create something truly beautiful.
